Wild Flower – Along the Trails

Hiking is one of my favorite leisure actives.  The protected woodlands and preserves of Southeast Pennsylvania provide an ample selection of native wild flowers.  The fresh air with the sounds and sights along the wooded trails are invigorating for the body and the soul.  The specimen depicted here is the Wild Geranium.  It can be found in woodland environments in North America and Europe.  In the past, the Wild Geranium was used as an astringent in herbal medicine.
