Dianthus Armeria

Better known as Deptford Pink, this tiny flower (15mm or about 1/2 inch) packs amazing detail when in a macro view.  With its reddish pink flower, it is a showy, noticeable flowering plant despite its small size.  Native to Europe and has been naturalized in North America.  Check for these early, the flowers close up in the afternoon.
