A friend asked me, how do you get that close to your subject. I answered, I sneak up on them. Not really, plant a garden with flowers, they will come. Standing still and shooting away, they get on the important business of pollination caring less about the photographer. This shot was at a distance of about 14 inches with a 105mm macro lens stopped down to f/32 to get reasonable depth of field. The shutter speed was 1/100 second. Time and patience does pay dividends.
