Spider’s Lair

A member of the funnel weaver spiders sits characteristically at the closed end of a funnel like web.   These spiders spin large webs but are hard to spot due to the fact that they only venture out of hiding when prey is caught on the web.  They are harmless to human unless provoked giving a non-poisonous bite.  The funnel weaver is fast moving, reclusive and beneficial to the environment as insect pest remover.
